Who are we:
CAUC (Complete and Utter Chaos) is the f24 racing team at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College. The team is comprised of around 20 female students with a passion for engineering and motorsport. Being part of the Greenpower Education Trust, we are provided with the opportunity to race our home-built cars across the country at tracks like Silverstone and Goodwood and learn a wide range of skills from simple team work and communication skills to driving, programming and hands on work for problem solving whilst having hours of fun at the same time!
As a team competing for almost 2 decades, we have had plenty of cars designed, built and raced over the years and another soon to be joining them with the hope of reclaiming the International Final Championship Title secured by Dylan in 2016. CAUC provides our team members with an engaging project bridging between all years of the school from Year 7s to Year 13s as well as supporting the students to harness their talents for their future plans and careers.
The team has regular meetings on a Tuesday night to continue developing our cars as well as teaching members about telemetry and discussing new designs to make our cars more aerodynamic and the most competitive they can be. As the season begins, we also use our lunchtimes for pit practises where we aim to reduce the amount of time we spend in the pits on race days by having practised in every scenario so we can spend as much time as possible on track. We have found that this has been paramount in the improvements in our racing from faster lap times to increased mileage that we have been able to see on our review sessions after a race day. As a team, we strive to ameliorate the communication between members and leaders of all ages as we are frequently described as a CAUC family; a significant factor in our abilities to support each other no matter the circumstance as everybody has a role valued in the team.
