This week it was movie night - CAUC style!

So, over the last few weeks we've been hinting about an exciting event coming up. Well, you may have already seen over on our socials, but this Saturday, we were extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to hold a practice day at our local track; Darley Moor Motorsport Centre. Needless to say, we all had a brilliant time and are extremely grateful to the owners of Darley Moor for allowing us to host our very own private practice day!

It provided the perfect opportunity to have a shake down of the cars and put into practice the driving line theory learned a couple weeks prior. In order to help with the latter, we decided to attach a Go-Pro to the roll bar of Dylan in an attempt to capture footage that could later be used as a learning tool.

Consequently tonight, we sat down and went through some of the footage. If I were to tell you that a number of our team members became rather au fait with the grass, crash barriers and off-roading, I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you when I say that this footage was rather hilarious to watch!!

However, the clips proved to be a great visual on how a corner (such as a hair pin) should be taken. Helping team members to clearly see which lines are the best to take whilst also assisting their understanding on why they may have been unable to navigate the corner without taking a de-tour onto the grass!!

Movie night over, next we had a discussion on what we felt went well and what didn't quite go to plan before setting three targets to focus on during the next practice day.

Targets set, we spent half an hour making sure everything was back in the trailer, packed and ready to go again. Because yes, we are back to Darley Moor during the Easter holidays. How lucky are we.

Hopefully, our next blog will be a recap on the antics we got up to at Darley Moor.

But until then, CAUC wishes you all a very Happy Easter!
