Virtual Car Team Week 5: Virtual backgrounds, OpenFoam Results and a brilliant quiz night courtesy of Katy!
This week, we kicked off our Zoom meeting by discovering (and having a lot of fun!) with the virtual background feature.....although appreciate we maybe quite late to the party with this!!! Jeff jetted himself off to the beach whilst Richard and Jane joined Dylan & Basil on the grid at Anglesey! Cerys and Cate had a similar idea and also headed off for a race - whilst Em decided her venue of choice was the tech suite!!!
It's all to play for next week, as we've tasked the team to come up with the 'most inventive background'! Wonder who will win our mini competition?!
Excitement from the background aside, it was time to get down to business and discuss the OpenFoam simulation results from our latest design.
Unfortunately, despite the changes that we had made, they seemed to all have a negative impact on our previous results. Although this was only marginal, as I'm sure you can imagine, this wasn't quite the improvement we were looking for!!!!!
Therefore, it's back onto Solid Edge to continue to tweak the design further. Hopefully next week we'll have the results we were hoping for!

With new car design chats finished for the week - it was over to Katy to host her 'lockdown quiz night!'
There were multiple rounds - including General Knowledge, Four Pictures 1 Word, Guess the Movie from the Quote and Celebrity Caricature's.
It was during Round 4: Celebrity Caricature's that Cerys proudly presented us with her own version. I don't know about you, but the resemblance is un-canny!!!!!
With points available for the correct answer and fastest response first - in true CAUC style it got pretty competitive. But, without further ado, this week *Drum roll please* the results are as follows.
In:
1st Place (with 3 points) - Em
2nd Place (sitting on 2 points) - Cerys
3rd Place (1 point) - Richard & Jane
...and as the supportive team we are to one another - there's also the 'loser board'. Top of this is Alice, closely followed by Cate and CharCar!!!!!
Next week, it's over to Em to host the quiz - and a chance for others to get off the mark and enter the CAUC lockdown Quiz Leader Boards!!!!
