Virtual Car Team Week 20: Returning to Solid Edge, Kahoot! Quiz Night and the usual weekly catch-up.
As is customary with these calls, we kick started the meeting with our weekly catch up. Topics for this week were holiday destinations, the latest quarantine list, exam result algorithms and our fond memories of Greenpower race days - discussing everything from funny anecdotes at races, our favourite and least favourite race tracks, to the time the trailer broke down on the way to Castle Combe!!
Becksy and Emily also showed their age as they reminisced about the plastic coloured wrist bands you would get at every race.
Having not been back on Solid Edge for a few weeks and beginning to have a few withdrawal symptoms, we headed onto Solid Edge to consider the logistics of building the new car; working out how we were going to split the mold / car up before discussing the different fabrication methods that could be used to fit the different sections of the car together.
We also had a quick look at the mechanics - deciding what we would need access to and where the access points would be best located.
Satisfied with the work completed on Solid Edge - it was time for CAUC Lockdown Quiz Night Week 15! Although for this week, we cheated a little by using a pre-made Kahoot! Pub Quiz.
With rounds on flags, football teams, music and dog breeds - the quiz was varied to say the least!!! There was definitely a lot of guess work involved...especially during the music round where the music only decided to work seconds before the count down timer finished!!
...at least it kept us all entertained for 30 minutes eh?!!
Quiz over - it was time to reveal this week's winner.
Drum Roll Please....
In first place was Becksy, closely followed by Jodie and Jane.
...Jane beating Richard to 3rd place was the highlight of our night. Although not so sure he appreciated the team encouraging Jane to make the most of her win by getting Richard to supply her with endless cups of tea as a reward!!!! :'D
The results from this week were not enough to alter our lock-down leader board - as Cerys maintains her position in 1st Place.
We finished the evening by wishing Em the best of luck as she heads off to Brands Hatch this weekend as part of NCME Team Ensign, to race in the F1 Masters Historic Racing event. We are certainly looking forward to hearing about how she got on when she's back!
So there we have it - another virtual car team completed! Not quite sure how we have got to Week 20 already - but I guess 'time really does fly when you are having fun!'
