CAUC (Complete and Utter Chaos) is an Electric Car team from Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College that build and race electric cars. Our main ethos is to break stereotypes whilst also simultaniously inspiring our students to pursue a career in a typically male-dominated industry, attempting to improve the statistic that only 9% of engineers are female.

Our team competes, as part of the Greenpower Education Trust series of races, at circuits across the country, including Goodwood, Silverstone, Castle Combe, Croft and Aintree.  The team, consisting of around 20 students aged between 11 and 18, are supported by our technology teacher and two volunteer engineers. By gaining hands-on experience working alongside the engineers, CAUC members are exposed to a wealth of engineering disciplines and shown the clear benefits of a career in this field. Consequently, this active participation has resulted in many of CAUC’s alumni securing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related careers.

The team has built a number of cars over the years, each one a progression on the last. We welcome you to our web site and hope that you browse around to see how the girls have raced over the years.
